Después de unos días de trabajo, os enseñamos las siguientes fotos de los pajaritos que estamos haciendo por encargo. Esta parte es muy bonita, ya que se trata de pintar y barnizar las piezas.
Como véis en las fotos, los pasos son los siguientes:
1.- Se pinta cada silueta de madera con una capa de blanco. Nosotros intentamos que no sea un blanco puro (como puede ser el Blanco de Titanio) sino un tono ligeramente ocre. Así que pintamos con Blanco Americano, un pigmento acrílico con mucha carga, denso y opaco. Como tiene mucha capacidad cubriente, el resultado es homogéneo a la primera pasada ¡Y además da un tono precioso!

The steps we follow are:
1. - We apply one or more layers of white paint on our wooden birds. We wanted it to be a warmer white, so American White was a nice solution for this. It is a heavily loaded acrylic colour, very dense and opaque. It gave the birds a lovely tone!
Como sabéis, intentamos que cada pieza sea única, que tenga su propia identidad. Por eso, en el momento de pintar las líneas de cada animalito variamos el diseño. Son en blanco y negro, pero hacemos cambios en el plumaje para que las parejas de pajaritos sean todas diferentes.
Aquí he de decir que es Miguel el que se encarga de la mayor parte del trabajo, esa es la verdad, ¡ja,ja!.
Por tanto, el siguiente paso es:
2.- Pintar el plumaje y los detalles de cada pajarito uno a uno. Utilizamos un pincel fino (nº0) y pintamos con acrílico, ya que es un tipo de pigmento resistente y opaco. Es importante que el pincel sea de calidad, pues es muy complicado que las líneas salgan homogéneas con este grosor tan fino si el pincel es malo (ya sabéis: se despelucha todo y es un empastre).

Dejamos secar unas horas antes de barnizar. Este paso es delicado ya que nosotros utilizamos vitrificador, es decir, resina epoxídica de dos componentes. Preferimos este acabado porque deja una superficie cristalina, brillante y gruesa que no se consigue con un barniz convencional. Sin embargo, la dificultad a la que nos referimos reside en la naturaleza del vitrificante, ya que es un material que seca rápido y no es fácil de extender:
3.- Aplicar la capa de protección de forma generosa con la ayuda de un pincel sobre cada pajarito. hay que tener cuidado y repartir el líquido de forma homogénea para evitar desniveles, burbujas y grumos en la superficie. Una vez aplicado, dejar secar de 24 a 48 horas. Aquí abajo tenéis el aspecto del producto.
